Move Pandemic Talks Out of Geneva for True Equity, says AHF

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) calls for relocating the ongoing Pandemic Agreement negotiations out of Geneva, Switzerland. Citing concerns over transparency, accessibility, and inclusiveness, AHF advocates for a more globally inclusive venue that ensures equitable participation from all countries, particularly of the Global South.

Enshrining Inequity is Immoral: Vote No on the Pandemic Agreement, says AHF

As the final stage of negotiations of the World Health Organization (WHO) Pandemic Agreement nears conclusion, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation voices major concerns about the latest Proposal for the Agreement. The current best-case scenario in the most recent text will require that 20% of pandemic-related health products be “made available for use on the basis of public health risk and need. This is grossly insufficient because it leaves 80% of critical vaccines, treatments, and diagnostics inaccessible to LMICs which comprise approximately 85% of the world’s population. The world-leading scientific journal, The Lancet, has described this proposal as “shameful, unjust and inequitable.”

Pandemic Accord Is 20% Health Equity and 80% Inequity, Says AHF

With the Pandemic Accord negotiations set to resume tomorrow for a last-ditch effort to find consensus before the deadline at the end of May, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) has described the current state of the text as 20% equity and 80% inequity.
